When a famous performer and his team wanted to create a show that would 'blow away' the crowds at Coachella, who did they call? Avon Marching Black & Gold Director Matt Harloff.
Once again, the Avon Indoor Winds completed the season as State and World Champions. Avon Drumline also brought home a State Championship and an impressive 4th-place finish at the World Championships.
Forty-nine AHS students attended the Indiana State Leadership Conference for HOSA-Future Health Professionals. Five qualified to compete at HOSA's International Leadership Conference in June.
Join us for the last Interact Club meeting of the school year right after school on Thursday, April 24th in the L101 Lecture Hall. We will recap and celebrate what a great year of service we have had and enjoy a popsicle party.

This AHS senior has been busy. Her most recent adventure took her to the Indiana Statehouse, where Senator Brett Clark and Representative Greg Steuerwald honored her.
An Avon High School senior earned the distinction of being one of only 12 Indiana seniors to win a 2025 IHSAA Eugene C. Cato Memorial Scholarship for her impact on the court, in the classroom, and around the community.
This year's spring play, Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars, is Friday and Saturday, April 25th and 26th, at 7:00 pm and Sunday, April 27th, at 3:00 pm in the auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
Today is the day seniors pick up graduation cap and gowns during SRT and lunches. Pickup in the Auditorium. All other items you ordered will be mailed home.
Avon High School Choirs had a stellar season this year, and they wrapped up the season with outstanding results at state competition — including the program's state title.
Want to be a part of our State Championship Choir Program? Choir try-outs are starting this week. We have show and concert choirs that you can be a part of! No experience is necessary, because there is a place for everyone in our choir department! If you are interested in show choir, the dance audition workshop is Wednesday, April 9th from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the choir room and the actual audition is Thursday, April 10th at 6:00 p.m. If you cannot make those dates, message Mrs. Trigg to set up another time to audition. If you have any further questions send a schoology message to Mrs. Trigg or fill out the "Join Choir" form on the choir website (www.avonchoirs.com).

Two AHS seniors have advanced on the merits of their submissions to the Avon Optimist Club's oratorical and essay competitions. They are moving on to represent Avon at the next level of these longstanding competitions.
An AHS freshman and Avon Aerial Oriole qualified in four events and will join Team USA this summer at the IJRU World Championships in Kawasaki, Japan.

The AHS Speech Team won its second consecutive Indiana 3A State Championship yesterday! It was a tremendous team effort, with 21 semi-finalists and 14 finalists.

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America recently held its annual State Leadership Conference, and we are excited to share that our students earned an impressive two bronze, five silver, and one gold medal.

After an exciting qualifying tournament, all four Avon High School Robotics teams are going to the state championship match in early March. AHS is the only school in the state with numerous teams qualified for the tournament.
The Avon High School Speech Team won their 4th consecutive Speech Sectional Championship on Saturday, February 22. The team competes Saturday at IU Columbus to qualify students for Nationals. State Finals are Saturday, March 1, at Fishers High School.

Arsema, Kanyin, and our social media campaign will be going to State in March, and Perla Tecan-Cruz was accepted to represent Avon (and JAG Indiana as a whole) at Nationals in April. Wish them luck and a huge congratulations to everyone!!!

Each year, the HCCF oversees the awarding of three Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships to deserving Hendricks County seniors. This year, an Avon High School senior received the award.

On April 10-12, 20 of Avon High School's Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science students attended the Indiana State HOSA Leadership Conference. Two students placed first, two placed second, two placed third, and multiple students finished in the top 10 in their disciplines.
Recently, Dr. Wyndham had a conversation with two clarinetists from the AHS Band. Betty Barding was a member of the first Avon Band and graduated in 1954. Abbi Churchill plays clarinet in the Marching Black and Gold and Indoor Winds and will graduate this May.

College Board admitted AHS to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll "for developing an AP program that creates a college-going culture and gives students opportunities to earn college credit and to maximize their college outcomes" and awarded AHS the 2023 AP Access Award "for ensuring AP coursework is equally available to students no matter their backgrounds."

Our theme is “The Lorax.” We need decorations for the booth and candy/sticker/trinket donations from members. We need members to set up, dress up and pass out candy, and tear down. AHS has been named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2023 by the U.S. Department of Education based overall academic performance. AHS is one of 353 schools in the nation to be recognized this year and one of only eight public schools in Indiana – and the only public high school – to earn the honor.
