Athletic Director Jason Young represented Avon Athletics and received the 2025-26 Sportsmanship Award from the Fall Creek Officials Association. This prestigious award is given to one deserving Indiana school each year.

Avon Accents are back-to-back State Champions, once again winning this year's mixed division competition. Attraction took second in the univoiced division.

The Avon Speech Team captured the 3A State Championship for the third year in a row. This was truly a full team accomplishment, with 37 students earning qualification at State through their sectional placement.

Avon High School senior Nate Rioux won his second IHSAA State Wrestling Championship, capping a career and season for the ages.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation notified AHS that all five National Merit Semifinalists are now Finalists. The process to notify scholarship winners will begin this month. Way to go, students!

The AHS Speech team won Sectionals for the fifth year in a row and qualified 37 out of 40 students for State competition. Even more impressive, Avon earned 11 of the 13 individual sectional championships.

More than 180 students have qualified for recognition in the College Board National Recognition Program. This is by far the largest number of AHS students to earn this honor in a single academic year.

With the opening of the Evergreen/Willow playground at the end of fall break, our school corporation's long season of renovation, expansion, and construction officially came to a conclusion. It is certainly worth celebrating.

Avon High School has always had a high graduation rate, but the class of 2025 broke the record for the all-time highest. This spring, 98.4% of AHS students graduated. How was AHS able to achieve such a high mark?

In 2012, Avon Schools ranked 16 out of 292 Indiana school corporations on standardized testing results. In the following years, our state rank fell 39 places to 55th in the state. In 2018, when the community supported the Operating Referendum, test scores rebounded immediately.

The Avon High School Disc Golf Club competed in the Indiana High School Disc Golf State Championships on May 5. The team of 20 members sent eight players to compete and was crowned best team in the state.

It all began when a few art teachers saw a social media post and got inspired! AHS art students turned Sycamore kindergarten students' monster drawings into ceramic monsters, displayed them at the Art Show, and gifted them back to the kindergarten students.

Avon Schools district leaders, family, and friends gathered on May 13 to celebrate 24 employees who are retiring this year. In total, these individuals dedicated 552 years of service to Avon.

The Kiwanis Club of Avon hosted a Salute the Recruits dinner and recognition event this week. They honored four members of the AHS class of '24 who have chosen military service as their next step after graduation.

For the first time in Avon High School's history, a Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) student has won a National Championship. A senior won first place for Employability Skills at the National JAG Conference in St. Louis.

Avon High School sophomore Giselle Long is having breakout success on the rugby pitch and she's receiving attention for her exploits. She has been scouted by US Rugby and she'll travel Europe this summer as a member of Eagle Impact Rugby Academy.

On April 10-12, 20 of Avon High School's Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science students attended the Indiana State HOSA Leadership Conference. Two students placed first, two placed second, two placed third, and multiple students finished in the top 10 in their disciplines.

At the ACSC Back-To-School Celebration on July 27, we celebrated three notable Avon educators. Our annual “Baby Oriole Just Hatched” award goes to the person who was most recently hired, and we recognize the people who have the longest tenure in Avon Schools, our “Golden Oldie Orioles.”
