AHS '18 Grad Talks Career Path with Broadcasting Students

Most Avon High School students are only a few years away from exciting careers in their fields of choice.

AHS Broadcasting students received an excellent reminder of that recently when '18 graduate and former Broadcasting student Christian Steiner stopped by to visit.

Steiner, a '21 graduate of the IU School of Media and current Freelance Journalist with the Big 10 Network, returned to Mrs. Lauren Tauer's classroom to speak with students about his education and experiences. Just a few short years ago, he was in their position. Now he's living in Chicago and growing a career he loves.

"Avon Broadcasting means a lot to me," Steiner told students. "I would not be where I am today without Mrs. Tauer's help as well as the school supporting the High School Broadcasting program. Avon gave me the groundwork I needed to learn and grow my interest in broadcasting. It means a lot to me to be able to come back and get to share my story and experiences with the current students!"

Thank you, Christian, for coming back to share your experiences with and to inspire Mrs. Tauer's Broadcasting students.
