AHS Students Paint the Town

AHS Students Paint the Town

It began as a creative way to cover up some unsightly graffiti on the side of an Indy-area Jiffy Lube, and it has turned into an award-winning public art project.

Three Avon High School National Art Honor Society students had the opportunity this summer  to team up with Megan Jefferson of Jefferson Art Studio to make a mural concept come to life on the east side of the Avon Jiffy Lube located at 7825 East US Highway 36. Their exceptional work earned them an invitation to appear on the Monday, August 1, broadcast of WISH-TV's Life.Style.Live! program.

Not only did this project give the students the chance to exercise their creativity, it gives them a tangible, real-world art experience to include in their portfolios so they can continue to create art while they're at AHS and beyond.

Congratulations, students, for your excellent work, and for making our town a more beautiful place!
