AHS Students Sweep Annual Rotary Speech Contest

The Rotary Club of Avon recently held its annual Speech Contest and awarded three cash prizes to the winners. This year's competitors, all members of the award-winning Avon High School Speech & Debate team, were poised, prepared and on point as they presented their memorized speeches on "Service above Self & One Profits Most Who Serves Best."
They were judged by a panel of Rotarians who agreed that all three speeches were inspirational and impressive. In the end, Jay Desai placed 3rd, Malak Marzak placed 2nd, and Natasha Nair placed 1st.
Natasha and Malak will go on to compete for even bigger cash rewards in the Rotary District 6560 competition at Anderson University on Feb. 10.
