Celebrating Orioles, August 2026
Three special Orioles were honored by the Avon Board of School Trustees at their August 10 meeting.
Our 2026 Teacher of the Year, Pine Tree Elementary School Counselor Amber Wetzel, and our 2026 Support Staff of the Year, White Oak Early Learning Center Assistant Cafeteria Manager Mary Cantlebarry, received Resolutions of Commendation from the Board.
Avon High School sophomore Sophia Jimenez-Butcher was also recognized by the board for her recent participation in The Songbook Academy, placing her among the top high school vocalists in the nation.
We are proud of these three individuals and we are grateful for their numerous contributions to our community.
