Enter the Avon Optimist Club's Oratorical Contest
The moment I realized I belonged — my definition of community.
That's the theme for the 2025-26 Avon Optimist Club's Oratorical Contest for students. The contest is open to any student under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2025.
Not only will the winner of the local contest receive a cash award, they will have the opportunity to progress through the district, regional, and world championships, possibly winning as much as $22,500 in scholarships.
Students wishing to participate should call (317) 313-1701 to learn more. The deadline to turn in speeches is February 9, 2026, and the contest is scheduled for February 17.
