Journalism Students Visit McDonald's, Receive MAC Grant

Journalism students and their educators are used to covering the news, not making it. However, Avon High School Broadcasting and Animation Teacher Lauren Tauer and two of her students took a turn in front of the camera recently when they received a MAC Grant that had been awarded to them by McDonald's.

The award will be put to good use. It will be used to help Newspaper, Yearbook, and TV students cover fees related to their trip to St. Louis for a Journalism Convention this November.

According to the program website, McDonald’s program has awarded millions of dollars to help teachers "implement interesting and educational projects in their classrooms."

Congratulations students and teachers. Enjoy the convention!
