Students Take 1st and 2nd at District Speech Contest

Students Take 1st and 2nd at District Speech Contest

by Pam Lyons

The Rotary District 6560 Speech Contest was recently held at Anderson University. Ten participants from eight Indiana high schools competed. The participants delivered memorized speeches focused on Rotary's two mottos: 'Service Above Self' and 'One Profits Most Who Serves Best'.

AHS junior Natasha Nair placed 1st and sophomore Malak Marzak placed 2nd.

Both participants are active members of the award-winning AHS Speech & Debate Team. Both  have gone to District competition in the past and placed. However, this is the best finish they have had. Natasha and Nair both highlighted their personal experiences and dedication to service while also lifting the impact Rotarians are having around the world through service.

Congratulations, students!
